A Celebration of History and Tradition
The Lynchburg City Stadium was built in 1939 to provide combined football and baseball facilities to the city. The complex is home to both the Lynchburg E.C. Glass and Heritage High School’s varsity football teams. The city embarked on a project to bring the stadium up to current standards while retaining its original charm and architectural integrity. The internally-lit entry plaza monuments welcome visitors into the complex while paying homage to the stadium's 80-year history and the legacy of its players.
Navigating a Revived Facility
Beyond the entry plaza, visitors are welcomed into the stadium with new identification and wayfinding signage. The stadium name is celebrated upon entry and key visitor amenities are highlighted for easy navigation. The signage system uses a clean and minimal aesthetic to support a timeless feel for this revived community facility.
