Geosphere, Hydrosphere, Biosphere, and Atmosphere each have their own visual character. Large-scale aerial photographs in central spaces give way to detailed, full-color images at reception areas and destinations. Local photographer Sanjay Suchak captured every image around UVA’s Grounds, Charlottesville, and the surrounding landscape, grounding the graphics in a familiar sense of place.
Large floor directories at central vertical circulation points provide immediate orientation at key decision points.
Grayscale aerial imagery creates a quieter backdrop in shared spaces, supporting the building’s calming atmosphere.
Detailed photographs at reception areas help distinguish destinations while adding color and visual interest.
