Lancaster Early Childhood Education Center
Through graphics and wayfinding, Lancaster Early Childhood Education Center introduces little learners to animals and facts about the Atlantic Ocean ecosystem of the region. As students move up to the elementary school on the same campus, the theme shifts to local waterways, deepening students’ understanding of the environment in which they live.

Hub of Activity
The updated main lobby brings a sense of welcome and orientation for visitors. Graphics that highlight donor support are centrally located, and new wayfinding signage directs visitors to the multiple hallways spurring off a central lobby. Here, visitors and students are introduced to the theme of the Atlantic Ocean ecosystem that feeds the bays, rivers, creeks, and estuaries of the region.
Colorful Graphics for Curious Minds
The newly renovated building had pristine white walls which were beautiful, but didn’t convey that this was a space for young learners to have a hands-on, engaging learning environment. Colorful murals and graphics throughout the building now feature age-appropriate educational prompts and introduce students to the real life scale of some of the sea creatures featured in the classroom themes.
